If you're like me, sometimes your desk can get out of control. Papers are everywhere and you can't find the one document that you need. So today, we're going to talk about organizing your desk so that it is efficient for you and your work method.
Let's start small. Choose a stack of papers or area of your desk to clean first. I like to start with the surface of my desk. I go through papers and anything that belongs to a finished project gets recycled, where any still ongoing project papers are organized and prioritized.
After the top of your desk is clean, you can move onto drawers. Go through one drawer at a time and get rid of anything that you do not still need. Organize everything as you go, you don't want to end up with tons of piles on your desk!
After the drawers are clean, start on any filing cabinets or shelves that you have. Use the same method, go through one section at a time and organize as you go. If you need to completely reorganize, make sure your desk is clear so that you have space to work.
Once everything is organized, it's a great idea to get some disinfectant wipes and wipe down all surfaces!
