Getting Through The Monday Blues
When Monday comes, it's always tough to let go of the weekend and embrace the work or school week. Today I'm going to give you my top 5 ways to embrace the coming week and get rid of the Monday blues.
Treat yourself. One thing that I like to do to celebrate Monday is to get myself something special like Starbucks on the way to school or work, or lunch out while I pack a lunch the rest of the week. Just something small that makes Monday a little bit less bitter.
Get active. One of the best ways to get over the hump of the beginning of the week is to get some endorphins pumping through your veins! When you workout or get moving, your body releases endorphins, which give a happy feeling. Starting your week out with a good workout or a walk with a friend is a great way to get some endorphins going.
Happy music. I'm one of those people that when I'm sad, I want to listen to sad music. When I'm mad, I want to listen to mad music. But one thing that I've found to be helpful in cheering me up is playing my happy playlists on my drive to school or work. I can kind of trick my mind into being happy because those are the songs that I normally listen to when I'm in a good mood!
Start a Monday Tradition. Whether it's sending memes to friends, having a standing date night, or something else, it's a great idea to find something small to celebrate each Monday.
SLEEP. One of the most important factors in our mood is how much sleep we're getting. Our bodies and brains need that rest time to detox and prepare for the day ahead. So be sure that on Sunday nights, we're setting our alarms and hitting the hay nice and early so that we can go into the week on a good note!
